Consumer NZ wants a temporary ban on food containers for babies containing bisphenol A (BPA), as Australia phases out their use.

Consumer NZ chief executive Sue Chetwin said it had been following scientific debate over the safety of BPA for 18 months. It wanted a temporary ban on products for babies and infants that use it until more was known about the safety risks.
