You can find a lot of medical information on the internet, some of it helpful and some of it downright dodgy.
One of the best websites is run by the British Medical Journal. Best Treatments provides reliable info from the most up-to-date medical research. You can find out about conditions ranging from absence seizures in children and acne, to wisdom teeth (impacted) and wrinkles. The site tells you:
- how a condition is diagnosed
- what the symptoms are
- which treatments work
- what will happen
- what to ask your doctor.
It also lists the articles and research on which its information is based.
As well, there are useful tips for managing your condition. For example, if you suffer from migraines the site suggests how children and teenagers can gather information for a migraine diary so they can work out what may be triggering an attack.

"Just wanted to let you know that I find your site excellent! Easy to find my way around, everything at my fingertips - just a click away.
I only took out a 3 month membership as I wasn't sure but it is actually really easy to use and if I want it on paper I can print the

"My mother (74) got a renewal letter from her insurance company for her car insurance, wanting $570. After reading
your article on car insurance, I contacted one of the companies you recommended, who quoted her $318 for the same
level of cover. I just wanted to stay thank you very much for your article, as it has saved my mother a substantial amount of money".
