Consumer NZ is criticising whiteware manufacturer LG for taking more than a year to deal with misleading labelling on its fridges.

The South Korean firm is offering customers a cash rebate on two models of its fridge freezer units after admitting they do not meet the energy efficiency ratings stated on their labels.

Consumer New Zealand research and testing manager, Hamish Wilson says he alerted the company to the problem a year ago, and wants to know why it has been dragging its heels.
