Consumers are invited to attend the annual Gas Industry Co Consumer Forum in Wellington.

Gas Industry Co is the approved industry body that works with the government on the co-regulation of the gas sector. It holds an annual Consumer Forum. The next Forum is Friday 16 October, probably from about 10 am to 1 pm with lunch. It will be held in Wellington at Level 8, 95 Customhouse Quay (the Todd Building).

It's free and discussion papers will be mailed or emailed out about a week before. Spaces are limited but Gas Industry Co will do its best to accommodate those interested in participating.

The theme of the Forum will be “efficient and fair outcomes for consumers”. There will be an emphasis on domestic consumers – with a workshop on the terms and conditions of contracts between consumers and gas retailers.

Gas Industry Co would like domestic gas consumers to be well represented at the forum and so we’ve agreed to help by telling our members about it.

If you would like to participate contact Gas Industry Co through Bas Walker: bas.walker@gasindustry.co.nz; or by phoning Kirsten West 04 472 1800.

Domestic Prices vs the Saudi Armco price Posted by: Dave Hanan 30 Sep 2009 9:40pm

Why is it that it is OK when gas prices rise that consumers are told that this relates to the Saudi Armco crude price and the NZD and when this changes this is not reflected in drops in price for consumers?
