Unfortunately, the GST increase from 1 October has forced us to raise our subscription rates.

We have tried to keep any increase the same as the GST increase, while rounding up or down as much as possible to the nearest whole dollar.

Any subscription paid before 1 October will be at the old rate of 12.5 percent. You can see the old and new rates in our Table.

Increase Posted by: Herb Smith 13 Sep 2010 9:16pm

Thank you for being honest. We expect other retailers will take advantage to increase their margins,so we commend Consumer for staying within the 2.5%

I'm surprised at Herb's comment.
I'm in the pricing team at a large retail chain, and we are changing nothing but the added 2.5%. If anything, some of our suppliers have dropped their prices so there will be no overall increase to the end consumer, and we are reflecting these decreases in our prices from Oct 1st.
Its a nightmare though - we have to re-label 9000 product lines!
