Consumer NZ is warning that an LG fridge which has been sold in New Zealand is illegal and misleading.
The fridge-freezer has a device which detects when its energy efficiency is being tested, and alters its energy performance to suit.
Consumer spokeswoman Sue Chetwin says this results in the LG fridge reaching unsafe temperatures for the food inside - and a larger power bill. Read more.
