The Commerce Commission may take into account public anger over milk prices as it evaluates whether an inquiry can be launched into the retail price of milk.

The commission said yesterday it had received complaints from "a number of parties" and was undertaking preliminary analysis about a price control inquiry.

One of those complainants was Consumer NZ, which released a survey last week showing 79% of New Zealanders think there should be a government inquiry into milk pricing practices.
