Mitsubishi Electric heat pump remote control

Mitsubishi Electric heat pump remote control

At last there’s a range of heat pumps with a decent 7-day, multi-programme timer.

In our last heat pump test we said: “We’d also like to see more comprehensive seven-day multi-programme timers. When a cheap plug-in timer can provide these features, why can’t an appliance that costs thousands?”

Our call has been answered. Mitsubishi Electric’s latest GE 60, 71 and 80 heat pumps come with a programmable 7-day timer. The timer is part of the remote control and allows you to programme four on/off times for every day of the week, each with its own temperature setting.

Careful setting up of this timer will allow you to maximise your comfort from the heat pump – and minimise your energy use.

The other good news is that these new models have substantially improved energy performance, compared with their predecessors. They now achieve Energy Star rating.

Daikin tells us it also has a range of heat pumps that feature 7-day timers. The floor-mounted models range from 2.5 to 7.1 kW and the wall-mounted models from 2.5 to 9.0kW.

Heatpump timers Posted by: Ross Becker 23 Feb 2010 9:21pm

I have 3 Daikin heatpumps at home. They were installed 10 years ago. Two years ago I replaced the simple on/off wall controllers of 2 of them with 7 day multi-function timers.
It's now "programme & forget".

I'd rate these timers as one of the best add-ons in our home.

7-day timers for heat pumps Posted by: Brenda Claridge 16 Feb 2010 4:55pm

Mitsubishi is not the only company offering 7-day timers. I recently had a Daikin installed offering 4 functions per day over a 7-day period.

I have just been quoted to install a floor-mounted Daiken but the supplier knew nothing about the programmable timers. Would you be good enough to give me the model number of your Daiken.
Thanks, Bob
