Most mail is posted from Monday to Friday. This has prompted New Zealand Post from April 18 to stop clearing street post boxes and PostShop posting panels on weekends.
There’s no change to deliveries to homes and businesses though – they’re still delivered from Monday through to Saturday.
If you pay your bills by posting cheques, make sure your payment is received by the end of the day it’s due to avoid late payment penalties.
Some businesses won’t charge a penalty if the envelope is dated (by New Zealand Post) on the due date, but others aren’t so generous.
