Rebel Sport has made a "stand" on behalf of the New Zealand rugby public and cut the price of the 2011 All Blacks jersey.

Managing director Rod Duke made the announcement at the chain's Panmure store this morning.

Mr Duke says his company decided to cut the price of the jersey; with the test edition now selling at $149.50, down from $189.99 and the Rugby World Cup version at $170, down from $220, after attempts to negotitate with adidas were unsuccessful.

Consumer New Zealand CEO Sue Chetwin says the jersey debate is bad PR for the clothing company.
