2degrees mobile has dropped its international roaming rates.
The strong Australian dollar can make it a pricey destination, and expensive mobile roaming charges just add to the pain. We often hear from members about incredibly high phone bills after trips overseas, and sadly our response is usually "you need to watch your usage carefully".
For those using 2degrees though the pain will be less severe. 2degrees mobile has dropped its trans-Tasman data roaming rates to $2.50 per MB (which it claims is 50 percent or less than its competitors’ rates). Trans-Tasman calling costs have also dropped, to 44c a minute.
The $2.50 per MB deal is also available for the UK and USA.
“Roaming in Australia is becoming increasingly important to our customers, including local businesses,” says 2degrees Chief Marketing Officer Larrie Moore. “This new roaming agreement lets us offer New Zealanders the best casual data rate and the same low pricing for calls in Australia that our customers enjoy at home. It’s our first step towards making roaming simple and reducing the cost for New Zealanders travelling abroad.”
