Joy Peffers, 71, claims she was told over the phone that she had won a prize. She then supplied her personal details for delivery.

However, the person delivering the prize walked into her unit wanting Peffers to buy a $3,000 vacuum cleaner.

Consumer NZ CEO Sue Chetwin said the company Living Longer New Zealand was no stranger to her organisation.

An initial investigation by Consumer NZ followed complaints from customers who were stung by the sales techniques used.
