From April 2010 all electricity and gas distributors and retailers must be members of the Electricity and Gas Complaints Commissioner Scheme.

This means all consumers (both business and residential) will have access to a free and independent complaint resolution service.

Consumers will first need to seek resolution from their electricity and gas suppliers.  If not resolved with the company, all complaints will now be able to be considered by a single nationwide scheme headed by the Commissioner, Judi Jones.
