Avanti bicycles
The problem
The bicycles have not been supplied with chain guards as per the requirements of the standard AS/NZS 1927:1998 Pedal bicycles - Safety requirements. In the absence of a chain guard, entrapment of clothing or body parts could occur in between the upper junction of the chain and chain wheel.

- Avanti ABD Derelikt 1
- Avanti ABD Derelikt 2
- Avanti ABD Derelikt 3
- Avanti 2011 & 2010 Solo Flat
- Avanti 2010 Solo Drop
- Scott Voltage YZ.1
- Scott Voltage YZ.2
Sold through bicycle retailers from 1 July 2009.
What to do
Stop riding the bike immediately. Call 0800 999 499 or email nzrecall@avantibikes.co.nz to find the nearest authorised dealer to have a chain guard fitted.
