Avanti Derelikt bicycles
The problem
The head tube of the bicycles has the potential to crack when used in certain circumstances.
Details
The following bicycle models are affected:
- 2006 Derelikt 1, 2 and 3 models (serial number U5+)
- 2007 Derelikt 1, 2 and 3 models (serial number U6+)
- 2008 Derelikt 1, 2 and 3 models (serial number U7+)
The serial numbers can be found under the bottom bracket shell of the frame. Sold through bicycle retailers from 1 July 2005.
What to do
Stop riding the bike immediately. Contact the place of purchase to arrange for a replacement frame to be ordered and delivered to the place of purchase for refitting free of charge. All affected models will be replaced with a 2011 ABD Flow aluminium frame. Replacement frames are expected to arrive in store by mid July.
