Chubb, Quell and Flameguard dry powder fire extinguishers

The problem
The fire extinguishers do not meet the filling capacity requirement of New Zealand Standards. As a result, the affected fire extinguishers may not release a sufficiently steady stream of powder.
Details
The following dry powder fire extinguishers are affected:
- Chubb, Quell and Flameguard 1kg, with serial numbers from SA313317 to SA683212.
- Chubb, Quell and Flameguard 1kg, with serial numbers from CQ148950 to CQ823764.
- Chubb and Flameguard 1.5kg, with serial numbers from SA318253 to SA643399.
- Chubb, Flameguard and Quell 2.3kg, with serial numbers from SA321385 to SA669428.
- Chubb and Flameguard 2.5kg, with serial numbers from SA306449 to SA662537.
- Chubb and Flameguard 4.5kg, with serial numbers from SA316897 to SA677860.
Note: No Orca SafetyAce fire extinguishers are affected by this recall.
What to do
To check if your model has been recalled check the serial number located at the base of the extinguisher (pictured right). If the serial number is between those listed above, return the extinguisher to the place of purchase for a certified replacement. For more information call 0800 871 516.
