Dyson DC05 Motorhead

Updated with New Zealand contact details.

The problem
The clip on the vacuum wand handle may crack and cause the hose to become detached resulting in electrical connections becoming exposed. If these connections are touched while the machine is plugged in, there is a risk of electrical shock and/or burn.

Details
Dyson DC05 Motorhead vacuum cleaner, sold between 2000-2005.

What to do
As a precautionary measure unplug the vacuum. If the hose is detached or loose, do not touch the exposed electrical connectors or operate the machine. If the hose is firmly attached, there is no immediate risk. Dyson is issuing a reinforcing cuff to all DC05 owners to prevent hose detachment. Call 0800 397 667 or visit www.dyson.co.nz/dc05motorhead or email dyson@averyrobinson.co.nz for your free cuff.
