In July 2009 Goldair initiated a recall for the following oil column heaters. Some heaters may still be unreturned.

The problem
A faulty tip-over switch could cause a hole to form in the oil column. Subsequently oil could leak out and possibly catch alight.

Details
The following models are affected:

  • Goldair 7 fin oil column heater, model FOL507
  • Goldair 9 fin oil column heater,  model FOL509
  • Goldair 11 fin oil column heater, model FOL511

Sold exclusively through Farmers stores between February 2009 and July 2009.

This does not affect heaters replaced during the initial recall in 2009 (identified by RW0709 on the rating label).

What to do
Stop using the heater immediately and contact Goldair on 0800 232 633 for instructions on how to receive a replacement heater. For further information, email heater@goldair.co.nz.
