Mechpro 2.5 horsepower air compressor
The problem
Due to current power supply fluctuations in the South Island, the capacitor on the air compressor may be affected by frequent disruptions. When turned on and left connected to the power supply there is a risk of the plastic capacitor cover catching fire.
Details
Mechpro 2.5 horsepower direct drive compressor with 40 litre air tank, product number MP 2540. Sold through Repco stores in the South Island from December 2009 to June 2011.
Stock in the North Island is not affected by this issue.
What to do
Stop using the air compressor immediately and ensure that it is disconnected from the power supply. Return it to the place of purchase for a refund or replacement product with an improved capacitor. Call 0800 645 654 for more information.
