The problem
Atenolol is a medicine commonly used to treat hypertension or angina. Some tablets have been found to be 72% larger than the required specifications.

Pacific Atenolol 50mg tablets, batch number DOR9003F. With an expiry date of 07/2012.
The tablets have been prescribed to patients since 1 January 2010.
What to do
Continue to take the tablets until a replacement can be obtained. If the tablets appear larger than normal, do not take them and contact your community pharmacist for advice. Call 04 802 8211 for more information.
