Master Build Disaster

My advice is to avoid a Master build building contract and guarantee. We have had no help from Master Build Services. They told us when our builder was defaulting on the contract that we were in a contractual dispute with the builder and it had nothing to do with them. They have refused to investigate our remedial work claim and will not talk to us. If you get a MB building contract check out the clause that outlines when a builder defaults - you can cancel your contract but you will lose your rights to claim under the guarantee. They wash their hands of you and leave you to hang waiting for you or the builder to break first.
BUT should you bother?

Would the consumer guarantee act be a tool to claim against the builder. How long is a considered to be 'fit for purpose'?
