Saturated fats and Trans fats Posted by: Viviane Vagt 13 Sep 2009 5:13am

Unfortunately saturated fats and trans fats have been lumped together in this article. This is a very common habit but it skews the picture. In reality saturated fats a far more beneficial that we have been told over the last 30 years, and trans fats are far too dangerous not to mention at all. I recommend the book by Mary Enig, 'Know Your Fats'.

Macadamia Oil Posted by: Suzanne Pilkington 31 Aug 2009 11:00am

Under the heading Oils compared, Specialty Oils,Macadamia you have suggested uses that it is good for salads.
I would just like to add that it is also great for stir frying and especially cooking seafood, as the oil reaches a high heat point and does not overpower the seafood.
I also use the oil for cooking cakes ,biscuits etc as a healthier option than butter
