Christchurch heating options Posted by: janies 07 Apr 2011 9:48am

Hi.We have got heatpumps and a gas fire. All these rely on electricity being available.
Does anyone have any info to help us decide which LPG heater to buy as a back-up please?
Please let me know what you think of your one if you had one, or any mistakes you made.
Thank you

affordability campaign Posted by: Anthony Last 31 Mar 2011 3:51pm

Consumer should be lobbying the Health Minister and the National and Labour Parties over this issue. There is a general election in November. The time is ripe for a campaign to bring dental health in line with national healthcare and for sublidies to be paid by Govt. People simply cannot afford dental charges now

Dental charges Posted by: Anthony Last 31 Mar 2011 3:46pm

Affordability of dental charges has now gone beyond the bounds of what most people can afford. People on low wage incomes and those who are retired now baulk at dental charges. It's high time dental care was made a part of NZ Health care as doctors are. Oral health is important because bad teeth and gums can lead to many nasty diseases, including cancer.

Dental recommendations in areas Posted by: janies 21 Jan 2011 9:09pm

Is it possible to get a list started of Dentists in different areas in NZ?
In particular I would like to know that the dentist does the check-up, scale and polish at the time. As it is now you ring your dentist and have to go for a check-up even when you have a broken tooth and tell them which tooth it is. You have pain and want to get it fixed. You still have to go for a 20 min check, then wait for an appointment for a repair but have to pay for a temporary repair in the interim.

Is there a list of dentists that have been recommended and why so good?

Would you be able to organise this as it is such a huge and easily mucked-up topic..especially if you are in pain.

How do I go about finding a new Dentist? Posted by: Patricia Moore 21 Jun 2010 9:22am

I have moved to a new area and want to find a Dentist. Have looked in the phone book and there are so many. What is the best way to tackle the issue and what are the main questions to ask?

Dental treatments Posted by: H & N 22 Mar 2010 12:28pm

I changed dentist a while ago as the previous one was telling me i needed to replace all my amalgam fillings with the white ones so was looking at high costs, now my new dentist says its unecessary - so who do you believe when they are the professionals?

I have been fortuate Posted by: Elderlybloke 13 Mar 2010 4:16pm

My dentist for 40 years has recently retired and I was charged at a low rate.
Now I go to the modern one and the charges are very much higher.

The gear at the new one is a bit more modern but not enough to have to charge so much but like most businesses now , charge as high as you can.

I must have saved a bundle over the years.
