Yes, one of the things that is annoying are the so-called "green products" that aren't really green at all... a classic is the "green works" cleaning products, which are manufactured in the USA and therefore not green at all by the time they get here! Thanks for the informative article, I agree with the need for proper standards to be enforced.

Excellent informative article thank you. A system of authenticating green claims would certainly help the market work better - one of the base assumptions for an effective market being perfect information. I also appreciate Consumer's emphasis on life-cycle analysis. Evaluating 'greeness' can be complex and it's in everyone's longer term interests to make green choices easy to make.
