Guide to the table
Our test was conducted at the University of New South Wales. Models were small- to medium-sized reverse-cycle split-system heat-pump/air-conditioner units typically sold by air-conditioning installers. The indoor unit for all models was wall mounted.
For larger models, see the Test results - large.

Shows heat-output capacity (as claimed by the manufacturer) with air temperature at 2°C.
Annual running cost
Calculated on 1500 hours heating per winter at the claimed capacity (electricity costs @ 21c/kWh).
