Imported furniture is arriving by the container load. How much is made from illegally logged timber?
In the past five years, furniture imports have more than doubled in value - they were worth $232 million in 2007 up from $111 million in 2002. But there's a good chance that some of what's being sold is made from illegally logged timber. There's also no easy way of finding out.
