WE purcashed a Laptop from Harvey Norman -we requested was 'fully Internet compatable".
WE did ask if it could work on Wireless and Skype as well.
They said Yes it would do Wireless aND sKYPE.
When we weNT to use it on Skype it did not have a mircophone- thereforE it was not compatable. They finally admitted fault after and vigours phone calls ,and offered plug in-Still awaiting.
Also we travelled to Sth Island to find it would not connect via Dial-up.
No they said it diod not have a Dial up modem, and "Everyone can get Broadband" - Yeah right typical Auckland comment.
Surely this is NOT a fully compatblke Laptop? Where do we stand. They refuse to acceapt our claim. We belive ALL can recive Dial-up therrte for it should be the default connection? Comments Please
Samsung Plasma with muffled speakers

I recently purchased a 42' Plasma T.V. The T.V is away getting fixed due to picture problems on a certain picture mode. Estimated to take 10 days to be fixed. I also told the service agents who picked the t.v up that the speakers sound muffled on all sound settings except clear voice. The volume is not up at a excessive level when they distort. The service agent told me they do this because they are a smaller speaker and that they face downwards therefore producing a muffled sound. This is T.V and a major function of a t.v is the sound and it's acceptable quality. Do I have the right for a refund as these speakers in this set are not of an acceptable quality.

I had a phone sent to Auckland as the screen would not work. I hadn't dropped it or got it wet. I had to pay for postage if it turned out that I was deemed to have damaged the phone. It turned out that I had damaged the phone and I had to pay $50.00! It was a new phone, I certainly did not drop it or get it wet. So just make sure they inform you about postal charges should they decide you damaged your phone.
Mobile phone faulty and reasonable time?

I bought a mobile phone a week ago and it has developed a problem - it keeps switching itself off at random.
I have returned to the store and told them of the fault and they stated that they would not be able to replace it/repair it in the city I live in, and need to check that I haven't dropped it (which I haven't).
I live in Napier; they are now wanting to send the phone up to Auckland for "checking" - but can not give me an exact time period of how long it will take (at least one week - but maybe 3).
In the meantime, I need to do without a mobile phone and pay for the contract of service for the network UNLESS I pay $80 for a "loan" phone from the vendor (per week).
So my questions:
1) This within a week period is surely a reasonable time to expect a replacement/refund?
2) The repair time is unreasonable?
3) What happens if the phone is dropped during the transit?
