I have heard that the mineral powder doesn't go well on 'older' skin, apparently it 'settles' into wrinkles. Has anyone aged over 50 tried it and if so how was it?

After paying $59 for the powder I was told I needed a serum to use under it - at a price of $72! More than the original product! I bought it but declined the brush as the total cost would have been exhorbitant. Just wonder if the serum is really necessary.
Have been using this for a few months now and just love it. Covers pretty well and feels good on your skin. No clogged pores look. Highly recommend to others.
