iPhone iGo Posted by: Matthew & Georgina MIller 07 Aug 2011 11:03am

I've got the iGo app for iPhone and it is absolutely outstanding. Speed camera locations, Google local search, carbon emissions for each route. Awesome.

I'd love to see your views on Google's built-in Navigation app on Android phones in this match. I've used mine quite a bit and it is superb; the only drawback being the fact it requires internet connectivity in order to operate. I guess the plus side there is that theoretically it's always up to date.

iPhone TomTom Posted by: HYG 14 Mar 2011 9:36am

I have the "in-car-kit" and the App. Both worked stunningly well on a recent South Island trip....but...the car charger contact pin broke inside the screw-in plastic housing. Running repairs included a new fuse, but as the App draws SO much power, the charging ability is a MUST!
Have since glued the offending plastic housing and so far so good! Any ideas where I replacement charger can be had would be appreciated though!

Iphone Tom Tom Posted by: Jon Sarten 03 Mar 2011 11:54am

I have been using the Tom Tom on my iphone both 3 and 4 for a few years now and have the cradle in my Prado. I have NZ, Australia and South Africa Tom Tom apps. I have had no problems and enjoyed using the apps with ease with both NZ and Aus but could not get my SA app to work while there in July last year as it said that it couldn't acquire the satellite. But it may have been a phone setting that but I couldn't solve the problem while I was there. In contacting the I store on my return they put me onto Tom Tom but they did not return my emails or calls.
