Clean your oven often Posted by: Fabulous 12 Aug 2009 11:19am

I'm surprised that the Oven Cleaning Tips section didn't suggest the simplest thing ever: when you're washing the dishes after a roast meal, use your dish cloth to wipe out the interior of the oven. That way you rarely (or never) have to give it a special clean involving toxic fumes.

I haven't used a special oven cleaning product for years, as I would rather do it the easy way. The oven is still warm after use and any spills or splatters never get a chance to become dried or double-baked.

Vacant holes in oven lining Posted by: Planespotter 22 Jun 2009 7:29pm

Vacant holes in oven lining when you remove the shelf guides and mounting screws. It didn't seem a good idea to squirt oven cleaner into these holes as you can see the insulation blankets through the holes. The insulation blanket would become contaminated with oven dirt laden oven cleaner which would dribble down inside the oven structure. I bung up the holes with surplus cut down silicone sealant nozzles.
