A supermarket basket

We sent shoppers to buy a basket of 20 house-brand products in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch supermarkets. In Countdown they bought Home Brand products; in New World and Pak’n Save (both part of Foodstuffs) they bought Budget and Pams.

To see just how much you can save using house brands, we also bought our basket of 20 products as popular name brands at www.countdown.co.nz, and in a New World store in Wellington.
