I would like information on what sort of filter I need for our well water. With the increase in dairying around us and recent heavy rain we need to do something about the safety of our water. Can't find anything here that tells me that.

There's no comparison or advice here whatsoever as to what filter is best for rain/tank water, and no update to the article after the comments highlighting this were made many months ago.
Interesting reading regarding the cheap and easy method, "fill a jug from tap and leave in the fridge overnight"! This changes only the taste? What about contaminates?
Boiling a jug of water and bottling it would be better would it not at killing any bacteria etc? What is best method? For example I was told to make sure the water boiled rapidly for up to a minute and the lid of jug should ideally be open or removed during the process.

It would be interesting to get more detailed information comparing filters - also filters for ph balance.
I would like to have some specific test comparisons + best result and Consumer recommendation.
I would be interested in an evaluation of how water filters deal with flouride

Thanks for telling me the big picture- now how about something to guide a buying decision for those of us who want a water filter????
I'd be really interested in a report comparing waterfilters that remove contaminates. I'm on rain water and love the taste of my water
