About our database

Choosing a new or a used car can be a difficult business. Getting it right could save you heaps in running costs or maintenance and possibly your life.

Our car database focuses on popular models and includes cars of all types from very small to people movers and 4WD. For each model you'll find an in-depth profile, and, where available, information on reliability, fuel and emissions, safety features, chassis and engine.

You can filter the database by car size, used price, brand reliability or manufacturer. Models can be compared side-by-side or looked at individually. An extensive table guide at the foot of the database explains more about the features and ratings we'ved used.

Models included

The database currently contains over 200 cars. We haven't covered every car in the market, largely because of the wide range of used import models from Japan. New Zealand now has over 60,000 available model variations according to Redbook, which is far more than any other similar country.

We plan to update the database regularly with new models, and welcome requests for reviews of popular models that we have yet to include.
