Why should someone be able to drag out paying a legitimate debt for what could be years, just because they can't manage their finances. The people who lend them the money deserve to be paid on time. The deterrent of having one's name listed as a Defaulter is often what it takes to make these people pay up. I speak from expierence as part of my job involves listing these people and trying to get them to pay their debts.

Having an individual's entry because he/she defaulted on a few debts or credit facilities on for a period of five to seven years is a bit extreme. I'd recommend removing this entry after the individual has confirmation of payment a given or alleged debt.
