About Us
Board Election
An election for members of our governing Board will be held in June. This year we have two vacancies.
If you subscribe to consumer.org.nz or Consumer magazine you are a member of Consumer NZ. This means you can vote for Board members.
All subscribers were invited to nominate candidates. Nominations closed on Monday 8 March.
An independent consultant will now select people from those nominated on the basis of the following criteria:
- experience in running a successful business
- experience in information technology
- a concern for and knowledge of consumer-protection issues and the welfare of consumers
- no conflict with the aims and objectives of Consumer NZ (see "Guidelines on Conflict of Interest" below)
Voting papers for the Board election are posted on the website and sent to members in May. The results are announced at the AGM in June and the three-year terms of those elected start then.
