Sue Chetwin, Chief Executive
Sue joined Consumer in April 2007 after more than 25 years in print journalism. Sue was formerly the Editor of Sunday News, Sunday Star Times and the Herald on Sunday. She says there are strong parallels between consumer advocacy and journalism. Her key role is to ensure Consumer remains relevant and an important part of Kiwi lives.
Sue oversees all of Consumer’s operations including publishing the magazine and our website, and the increasingly important contracts business. She is also the public face of the organisation. Sue is a director of the Banking Ombudsman Scheme, an alternate on the Electricity and Gas Complaints Commission and a member of the Electricity Commission’s Market Development advisory group.

David Naulls, Deputy CEO, Content Editor
David works closely with the research and testing team to ensure the quality of all articles published by Consumer NZ, particularly in the magazine and online. He has previously been a research writer and contract books writer at Consumer. Before returning as Content Editor, David was a freelance writer and editor for 25 years. He has post-graduate qualifications in journalism and political philosophy.

Miriam O'Connor, Marketing and Business Development Manager
Miriam joined Consumer in July 2010 and brings 20 years' marketing experience across both the government and private sectors to the role. She is responsible for sourcing funding for key business development projects and manages the ‘Consumer Recommends’ product endorsement programme. Miriam also oversees the Consumer NZ marketing programme, PR and customer-service activity with the aim of maximising revenue from membership and sales to support our research, testing and advocacy programme.

Mark Hughson, Financial Controller
Mark joined Consumer in early 2010. He is responsible for financial management and reporting, including budgeting, forecasting, statutory reporting and internal reports for the management team and the board. Mark also looks after our member database and manages insurance, payroll, investments, contracts and audit functions.

Hamish Wilson, Research & Testing Manager
Hamish has been working for Consumer for more than 20 years. He’s tested old technology like video recorders along with a steady stream of washing machines, fridges, dishwashers, TVs and DVD recorders. He is responsible for overseeing the research testing programme, which involves close liaison with international partners, particularly with our sister organisation in Australia, Choice.

Scott Feehan, Information & Technology Manager
Scott has been a Consumer member for many years and joined us in January 2010. He is responsible for managing our technology infrastructure and software development initiatives. Scott brings a mix of experience having worked in the financial and advertising sectors, including 7 years managing technology. With his experience in social-media strategies, Scott is helping to raise our profile in this space.

Lynn Green, Contact Centre Manager
Lynn joined Consumer in 2007, after many years’ experience in banking and utility contact centres. She has a level 5 Diploma in Contact Centre Management and she used the skills from that to set up an integrated and modern contact centre at Consumer NZ. Lynn has been closely involved with the replacement of the subscriptions database. Meeting subscriber expectations and providing a professional customer service is the focus for Lynn and her team.
