RSS

With our FREE feeds, it's easy to receive updates about the latest news, tests and articles, and product recall alerts from consumer.org.nz.

What is RSS?

Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is a method of transmitting news headlines and other updates straight to your computer.

Our feeds include headlines, summaries and links back to consumer.org.nz for full articles. With our RSS feeds you can get the expert, independent consumer product and protection information you've come to expect from consumer.org.nz - when you want it and how you want it.

How to get our RSS feeds

We currently have two RSS feeds - they're free, and it's easy to set up access.

1. Get an RSS reader.
You can use a feed reader built into a browser or e-mail program; download and install software on your computer; or use a Web-based feed reader (see "Where can I get an RSS reader" below for more information.)

2. Select the feeds you wish to access.

Either click the links below and add the feed to your RSS reader.

Or you can manually copy the URLs below into your RSS reader.

3. Read the latest from Consumer.org.nz
Your RSS reader will periodically retrieve the latest additions to either of the feeds you've chosen.

Important! Our feeds are for personal use only. You may not publish headlines from these feeds to a commercial web page without our prior permission.

Where can I get an RSS reader?

There are many kinds of readers, from stand-alone applications to web-based services, to those built into a Web browser. We've listed some of the more common ones below. Most of these applications are free and should be easy to install and use, but please note that we haven't tested any of them.

Follow the instructions provided on the websites listed below to install or configure your reader.

Browser-Based

The following web browsers have built-in feed readers

E-mail Programs

The following e-mail programs have built-in feed readers

Web-Based Services

All of these services are free, and will work with any recent web browser. All require registration and usually show ads as you read your feeds.

Desktop Applications

These programs run on your computer, and will check feeds automatically whenever they're running. Those marked with a "$" are commercial software; the others are available for free.
