Can our writer George live comfortably off his homemade emergency kit for 3 days?
The Ministry of Civil Defence and Emergency Management recommends having at least 3 day’s worth of supplies if you’re stuck at home in the event of an emergency. It also recommends having a grab kit in case you need to evacuate in a hurry. We decided to combine both and see if you could make an affordable kit that could see you through 3 days when disaster strikes.
Our writer George Block ventured into the bush of Matiu/Somes Island to see if it could get him through 3 days. These are the videos he sent back.
