NZ Post has provided these extra tips to help you get your parcel there on time:

  • Pack it properly – the parcel should be able to travel without being damaged or damaging other items.

  • Check the address using NZ Post’s address checker.

  • Before you go shopping – check the gift you want to buy isn’t a prohibited or restricted item. There are some surprising items on the list, including perfumes, nail polish, cash, toys containing batteries, jewellery and Christmas crackers.

  • Sending overseas? Fill out all Customs documentation and check whether you have to pay Customs duties. It’ll avoid delays at the other end.

  • Ordering gifts online? There are more options now for CourierPost to deliver at a time and place that suits you. Vist nzpost.co.nz and courierpost.co.nz for more information.
