The problem

Southern Approach has recalled its Camalot and Camalot Ultralight spring-loaded camming devices. Some devices may not be assembled properly and could come apart during use.

Details

The following products are affected:

  • Camalots (all sizes .3 to 6) produced between 18 May 2015 and 9 March 2016 with manufacturing codes between 5133 and 6067.

  • Camalot Ultralights (all sizes .4 to 4) produced between 10 November 2015 and 4 March 2016 with manufacturing codes between 5309 and 6061.

What to do

Stop using the devices immediately. Inspect your devices using the instructions on the Black Diamond website.

If you have affected devices, contact Black Diamond or Southern Approach for a replacement free of charge.
