The problem

Breville has recalled the Fast Slow Cooker’s white lid gasket. If the lid gasket is inserted incorrectly, contrary to the instructions provided, pressure may build up and release unexpectedly. This could lead to scalding or burns if the user is near the appliance when the steam releases.

Details

The model number is BPR200. This can be found printed on the rating label on the back of the pressure cooker.

There is a 4-digit production date code stamped adjacent to the rating label. Only pressure cookers with codes 1034 through to 1511 are affected.

The product was sold in a variety of retailers such as Harvey Norman, Briscoes, Mitre 10, Farmers and Noel Leeming from October 2010 to October 2015.

What to do

Check that the lid gasket is installed correctly before each use. Instructions are provided in the appliance’s manual.

Owners of the product should contact Breville for a free replacement lid gasket kit on 0800 273 845 or askus@breville.co.nz.
