The problem

Britax Childcare (NZ) Ltd have recalled Britax B-Safe 35 infant car seats. Cracks can develop in and around the carry handle grip which could lead to it breaking.

Details

Affected B-Safe 35 car seats have been sold in New Zealand for use in child seat hire schemes, by Britax NZ and Baby on the Move.

The recall affects B-Safe 35 car seats manufactured prior to 1 July 2015. See the back of the seat for the product name and date of manufacture.

What to do

You should have been contacted by your car seat hire scheme operator to return the car seat to have the remedy kit fitted. If you have not been contacted, call your scheme operator.

You can continue to use the car seat safely, but do not use the handle to lift or carry the seat until the remedy kit has been fitted.
