The problem

Panasonic is recalling the batteries supplied with Toughbook CF-S10 series laptops. Due to a manufacturing condition, the batteries can overheat and could burn you or catch fire.

Details

Affected laptops were sold in New Zealand in 2012. The defect applies to battery pack model number CF-VZSU61U, with lot numbers beginning BAW, BBF, BBX, BBY, BC, C1, C2, C3.

What to do

Check your laptop's model number (see below). If affected, turn off your laptop and check its battery pack. If you have an affected battery, remove it immediately and contact Panasonic for a free replacement.
