The problem

Novo Nordisk Pharmaceuticals Ltd has recalled two batches of its GlucaGen® HypoKit. During use, some needles may detach from the supplied pre-filled syringe.

Details

GlucaGen® HypoKit (1 mg solution for injection) with batch numbers FS6X537 and FS6X873 are affected.

What to do

Check the batch number on your GlucaGen® HypoKit. If you have a GlucaGen® HypoKit with the batch number FS6X537 or FS6X873, return it to your pharmacy and you will be given a free replacement.

If you do not receive a replacement immediately, keep your GlucaGen® HypoKit until the replacement can be provided, as the likelihood of a detached needle is very low (0.006%).

A GlucaGen® HypoKit with a batch number NOT mentioned above is not affected. The product will work as normal.
