Incorrectly torqued screws could make it difficult to steer or control your boat.

The problem

Mercury Marine has recalled its Mercury Verado L6 (200 HP to 350 HP) boat engine. The steering head screws may not have been torqued correctly during manufacture. This could make it difficult to steer or control the boat.

Mercury Verado L6 - 200HP to 350HP engines with the serial numbers below are affected:

  • 2B403314
  • 2B404213
  • 2B407394

What to do

Do not operate the engine until it has been inspected by the dealer and fixed if necessary.
