The problem

Manuka Melts New Zealand Ltd has recalled a specific batch of its New Zealand Manuka Honey Melts original flavour (48g) confectionery. The product contains undeclared propolis which some people may be allergic to.

Manuka Melts’ New Zealand Manuka Honey Melts original flavour is sold in a 48g cardboard box in retail outlets throughout the South Island and Wellington.

The affected product can be identified by the following:
Batch marking: 28018
Date marking: Best Before 29/04/2019 (printed as ‘Best Before APR2019’ on the sticker located on the product.)

This recall does not affect any other batches of New Zealand Manuka Honey Melts products or any other products sold by Manuka Melts New Zealand Ltd.

What to do

Check the batch and date marking printed on the sticker located on the product. People with a propolis allergy or intolerance should not consume this product. If you have consumed this product and have any concerns about your health, seek medical advice. If you are not allergic or intolerant to propolis, this recall does not affect you.

Customers should return the product to their retailer for a full refund.
