The problem

Ox Tools has recalled its Ratchet Tie Down Strap. The tie downs are incorrectly labelled with a lashing capacity that is higher than the breaking point of the straps.

If a higher load is tied down, it may break and pose a crash and injury hazard to other road users.

Details

The following Ratchet Tie Down Strap models are affected:

  • OX-P200904
  • OX-P201006
  • OX-P201109

They were sold from October 2012 to April 2017.

What to do

Stop using your strap. Return it to the place of purchase for a new compliant strap or a full refund.

Ratchet straps purchased after 1 June 2017 have the correct lashing capacity and are suitable for use.
