The problem

Selected Ryobi and Homelite petrol line trimmers/brushcutters and brushcutter blades are being recalled. If the nut securing the blade is not properly tightened before use, in accordance with the instructions, the blade may detach and injure users or bystanders.

Details

The models being recalled are:

Ryobi:

  • RBC254FSDSN
  • RBC254FSBSN
  • ABCLT04G

Homelite:

  • HBC25SJSN
  • HBC30SBSN

Blade attachments:

  • RAC1101
  • LTA-024

The products were sold at Bunnings stores nationwide from October 2013 to April 2016.

What to do

Stop using the blade attachment immediately. Contact Techtronic Industries N.Z. Limited to either:

  • return the product (as a whole) for a refund; or
  • return the blade only for a refund of its retail price
