The problem

ThinkPad lithium-ion batteries have been recalled because they may overheat and could cause a fire or burns.

Details

The following models, sold Feb 2010 through Dec 2011, are affected:

  • T410, T420, T510, T520
  • W510, W520
  • X121e, X130e, X201, X201s, X220, X220t
  • Edge 13, Edge 14, Edge 320, Edge 420, Edge 520, Edge 530
  • L520

What to do

Consumers should immediately turn off their computer, remove the battery and only power the computer through the AC adaptor and power cord.
