Major financial concerns can influence quality of life, savings levels, and day-to-day expenses. We asked New Zealanders to rank their top three financial concerns.


Key facts

Large out-of-pocket expenses such as rent, education, healthcare and unexpected costs are the predominant financial concerns for the majority of households. Mortgage payments is a higher concern among males (65% compared with females, 49%).

Females were more likely to rank living costs, such as the cost of food and groceries, as their number one financial concern (35% compared with 27% of males).
